Last week whilst browsing Instagram I noticed that Mumsy were offering trial boxes for just £5. At that price with no obligation to subscribe, I thought why not and the lovely little box plopped through my letterbox on Thursday. First impressions - how amazing is the box?! I love the illustrations and I've kept the box so I can use it to put Christmas presents in for someone! I know it's branded but it was just too cute not to reuse.
The trial box contains a random selection of items from previous boxes. This box was primarily made up of the contents from the last box to go out (minus the biscuit which I guess being edible doesn't keep so well!), making it extremely good value.
So what does the box contain?
Luna by Luna lip oil is a cruelty free luxury treatment oil for dry and damaged lips. Now I must admit I'm a slick of Vaseline or Nivea lipbalm kinda girl and I rarely wear any form of lipstick or lip gloss. Slicking this on felt a bit like the ultimate early teens throwback to sticky lipgloss that your hair inevitably attached itself to. But actually, despite the slightly horrifying throwback, this is a lovely product! It felt like I was a bit dressy and had made an effort whilst actually moisturising and softening my lips. I don't know if it would be up to the challenge of harsh lip cracking winter weather but for a little lip pick me up, it works perfectly. This by itself is $18 online so that makes the £5 box price worth it already!
Balance Active Formula Deep Moisture Serum is lightweight and doesn't feel like it clogs your pores or leaves your face shiny and greasy. The deep moisture treatment leaves skin looking hydrated and also helps fine lines and wrinkles. It's also free from any nasty parabens and dyes so it's gentle on the skin. Serums aren't something I've got in the habit of using before but I think I might be a convert!
Creightons hand cream is a real bargain product that looks and feels high end! The scent is lovely and it feels nice and soothing to rub in after washing up. I have pretty tough hands after decades of horse riding but I feel like this product smoothed my skin without attempting to soften it too much! Also nice to rub in around nail beds.
Feather and Down make products to aid you in getting a good night's sleep. Now this is something I really don't struggle with as I'm a head hits the pillow kinda girl but this shower cream was rather soothing and lovely at the end of the day. I felt as though the scent lent itself well to unwinding and switching off before bed and the cream texture was easily absorbed into my skin. This little tester size is only £1.20 from their website and the gorgeous packaging and scent would make it the perfect little stocking filler.
The final product is a Star Dust bubble mask. I can't actually find out much about the company online so I can't link you or tell you about them. I'm going to try it out this evening in a nice hot bath to see if the soothing relaxation helps to move this 41 week pregnancy!! I have to say I much prefer sheet masks these days as they seem like far less faff and mess.
